A visit with the General

One of the great things about living in this part of CA is that we are only about 2 hours away from the Sequoia National Park. The road to the park is very curvy and all uphill but it is beautiful!

A couple of weekends ago we were talking with the kids about the largest tree in the world and they wanted to see it. So, we packed some snacks and dressed in warm clothes and took a little trip.
It was a beautiful day and not actually that cold but there was still snow on the ground. The kids got to play in the snow and of course, visit General Sherman. I almost slipped on the ice a couple of times which would not have been a good thing for a 35 week pregnant woman to do! Thankfully, I remained on my feet the whole time.
The kids tried to pretend they were unimpressed by General Sherman but I know they loved it! There are some other areas of the park we still need to explore but they are closed for the season right now. We will definitely be doing some hiking and exploring after the baby comes! Yosemite is not far away from us either and we can't wait to visit there as well.
